Caught a CP to Ottumwa, IA. Where it dropped everything, after an hour I decided to walk 🚶 to the store I seen on the way in, 2 miles back. Another train pulled in during that hour, another CP, while on the way to the store I spotted the DPU that I'm on in the video. Normally, I wouldn't catch a DPU, to risky, but since my first ride dropped and this new train was an all tanker I decided to risk it. Got spotted by one worker who jumped on to check ✔ the engine but he was super cool! Said just stay low and that I'll be rolling into La Crosse within a couple of hours. Artists in the video: Blackfoot; Railroad Man Blackfoot; Train, Train 357 String Band; Ride Again The Rail Yard Ghosts; Dirty Kid Rag (Youtube) Johnny Cash; Ridin' the Rails (Intro&outro) Tim Barry; Train Improv
Didn't hop the A&M because I was dropped there on a Friday and sit through Sunday, didn't realize this line didn't work weekends. Ended up receiving a ride 70 miles or so on down to Van Buren. My collection of short clips of Van Buren to Kansas City freight hop. Collection of the videos that I've made for the Van Buren to Kansas City Adventure. The music is what I thought would fit the theme best! 3/23/14 on the UP Kansas Sub in Kansas City, KS. A very rare appearance by UP 6936 the only remaining DDAX40 in service. It was picked up in Cheyenne, WY by train OWVBT 20. The "Centennial" locomotive is the largest diesel built by the Union Pacific Railroad. This is also my first time seeing UP 6936.

My two year old son is absolutely nuts about trains... trains, trains, trains and more trains! So whenever I can I record video of trains so that he can watch them later on. This video is a compilation of several freight trains my kids and I watched pass through Union Station (Kansas City, MO). A plaque near the bridge we were standing on claims that a billion tones of freight passes through this area each year, making it the busiest area for railroad activity in the US. I must admit that it was quite incredible to see how much freight went through here in the 30 minutes we stood watching... enjoy!

Debbie Glassberg, a Kansas City designer believes in cutting edge thinking. She created a home out of shipping containers. It's now part of a residential area in the Kansas City area. Why this former toy designer believes that her kind of 'future think' may have answers that the rest of the world can use.

Were you there? Freight Train Rabbit Killer perform, along with members of the Ghost Wolves and Hangman's Hymnal. Freight Train Rabbit Killer are, in their words "...an American Roots opera - a shaman of the hills and a vigilante bent on justice." Their styles has also been described as "gothic blues".
I saw two UP SD40Ns on the bottom track of a BNSF/UP crossover while watching a UP train with a BNSF crew and EOT device crossing the bridge so I gave chase of the two rebuilt SD40-2s [both had snoot noses] down to a crossing where I could set up in time.

Three Kansas City Southern freight trains meet: two coal trains, each lead by a pair of AC4400's, and a log train pulled by a lone AC4400.

In the wide expanses of Kansas, BNSF freight trains thunder across the countryside, transporting their cargo on the busy mainline between Chicago and Los Angeles. In this video I stopped for a couple hours along the tracks for many trains in Saffordville and Strong City, KS, in March 2015. Located west of Emporia, the towns sport rail activity off two of BNSF's routes: the Emporia Subdivision, part of the "Transcon", and the La Junta Subdivision. We'll see several intermodal stack and "piggyback" trains, a coal train, a mixed freight, and an empty sand train, as they pass a remote grain elevator at Saffordville, and the old Santa Fe station in Strong City. This is the first in a new series of videos I'm calling "The BNSF System," featuring brief collections of trains on various BNSF route...
Jeff from Apex CDL Institute demonstrates how to perform a proper pre-trip inspection on a Class A tractor trailer. Remember, your states examiners might require a slightly different procedure. The process we use is good for both Kansas and Missouri and will pass easily in most states. ***This video is for demonstration purposes only. Apex CDL Institute makes no claim that the techniques, nomenclature or methodology of conducting a Pre-Trip Exam will work in your specific state. All state requirements are different.*** Any further education or clarification is reserved for students of Apex CDL Institute.

Military train CSX W830-06 with KCS units was the highlight of the day on the CSX Abbeville Subdivision. Chasing this train was challenging until emergency braking brought the train to a stop on the southend of Howie Siding. The reason was an air leak. Other trains in the video are MoW train A003-08, intermodal Q194-08, and manifest Q614-07. [© 2016 MBMARS Productions. Exclusive rights for YouTube channel "mbmars01" only.]

This video depicts a journey of over a thousand miles by train on the I-5 Corridor. Shown in this video are the BNSF & UP Seattle Subdivisions as well as the UP Brooklyn, Cascade, Black Butte, Valley, and Fresno Subdivisions.
Riding the 130N and 130S overnight freights between Anchorage and Fairbanks on the ARR Central and Mountain Subdivisions. It's unfortunate that I went through the best of the scenery in Denali National Park at night, but it was quite simply impossible for me to make this trip happen earlier in the year.
