Caught a CP to Ottumwa, IA. Where it dropped everything, after an hour I decided to walk 🚶 to the store I seen on the way in, 2 miles back. Another train pulled in during that hour, another CP, while on the way to the store I spotted the DPU that I'm on in the video. Normally, I wouldn't catch a DPU, to risky, but since my first ride dropped and this new train was an all tanker I decided to risk it. Got spotted by one worker who jumped on to check ✔ the engine but he was super cool! Said just stay low and that I'll be rolling into La Crosse within a couple of hours. Artists in the video: Blackfoot; Railroad Man Blackfoot; Train, Train 357 String Band; Ride Again The Rail Yard Ghosts; Dirty Kid Rag (Youtube) Johnny Cash; Ridin' the Rails (Intro&outro) Tim Barry; Train Improv
Didn't hop the A&M because I was dropped there on a Friday and sit through Sunday, didn't realize this line didn't work weekends. Ended up receiving a ride 70 miles or so on down to Van Buren. My collection of short clips of Van Buren to Kansas City freight hop. Collection of the videos that I've made for the Van Buren to Kansas City Adventure. The music is what I thought would fit the theme best! My two year old son is absolutely nuts about trains... trains, trains, trains and more trains! So whenever I can I record video of trains so that he can watch them later on. This video is a compilation of several freight trains my kids and I watched pass through Union Station (Kansas City, MO). A plaque near the bridge we were standing on claims that a billion tones of freight passes through this area each year, making it the busiest area for railroad activity in the US. I must admit that it was quite incredible to see how much freight went through here in the 30 minutes we stood watching... enjoy!

3/23/14 on the UP Kansas Sub in Kansas City, KS. A very rare appearance by UP 6936 the only remaining DDAX40 in service. It was picked up in Cheyenne, WY by train OWVBT 20. The "Centennial" locomotive is the largest diesel built by the Union Pacific Railroad. This is also my first time seeing UP 6936.

Why this former toy designer believes that her kind of 'future think' may have answers that the rest of the world can use.

Another couple of Marx sets recently acquired. I really like these tinplate diesels. The lithography is outstanding and of course the operation is dependable. Nothing fancy here. I reverted to my older editing suite in order to fiddle around with the volume of the diesel horn soundtrack. The results are OK, but not particularly realistic. Anyway, the fun is in watching the trains go round, so enjoy.
